How do I use old-fashioned metal candy molds? - old fashioned perculator coffee pots

I have several old molds, metal candy (Easter, etc.) never been used to make sweets. The forms are flat with 12 rabbits per page. A rod is inserted into the bottom of each candy.
Should I use something special for? Grease mold? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
